New World‘s upcoming update is scheduled for around 11 PM PT tonight, bringing with it the Siege of Sulfur event, various enhancements, performance optimizations, and a range of bug fixes.
As the Luck of the Bones event draws to a close, the Siege of Sulfur event is set to commence on August 30th. This event introduces a fresh public challenge where Sulfur Elementals threaten sandwurm eggs, and it falls upon you to safeguard them. Form groups of ten or more high-level players to defend the eggs and vanquish the enemies, earning numerous rewards in the process.
Rewards come in two categories: standard and bonus. Standard rewards, which can be acquired without a daily limit, depend on the number of successfully defended eggs. They include chances to obtain rare items like Named gear, Obsidian Gypsum, and more. Bonus rewards can be earned up to three times per day and guarantee you at least one Epic+ procedural weapon, an Epic+ armor piece, Umbral Shards, and additional Obsidian Gypsum. The Siege of Sulfur event concludes on September 12th.
This patch also addresses several bug fixes and performance enhancements. To improve client performance, the New World team has imposed sound limits in high-population areas. These audio limits are effective wherever there are more than five players, aiming to optimize the game’s performance. While such limits were previously lifted for new content, they have now been reinstated.
The patch includes fixes for quest-related issues and improvements to the Transmog system. Transmog changes involve visual adjustments, ensuring proper icons, and enhancing instructions’ clarity. Error messages have been added to alert you when attempting to apply a skin inappropriately.
Furthermore, PvP Arenas have been improved, featuring a new queue system designed to expedite match-finding.
